ASSA ABLOY has acquired HKC, a manufacturer of wired and wireless alarms and cloud-based monitoring solutions for both the residential and commercial markets. HKC is based in Ireland.
Given the strong commercial synergies between HKC and ASSA ABLOY, the acquisition will create opportunities for growth while allowing both businesses to deliver greater value to their customers by offering a wider and more innovative product range.
HKC will continue to operate as an autonomous business as part of ASSA ABLOY, retaining the existing strong commercial and operational team that has made the business successful. Existing customer contact points remain unchanged.

HKC was established in 1991 and has around 45 employees. The Head Office and factory is located in Dublin.
Sales for 2018 are expected to reach some EUR 18 million with a good EBIT margin and the acquisition will be accretive to EPS from start.
HKC was established over two decades ago to serve the growing needs of the security market. It has a proven track record and reputation among professional installers and specifiers. The company entered the UK market in 2011, and offers value for money intruder alarm products.
Its range of electronic intruder and life safety products includes hybrid and wireless control panels. It is also manufacturers a range of communicators, keypads, internal and external sounders, detectors, personal safety devices and power supplies.
HKC initially manufactured the SecureWatch range of wired products and in 2010 launched the SecureWave two-way wireless technology platform. SecureWave offers a suite of wireless detection and life safety devices and a range of communication modules, sirens and control devices. More recently HKC launched the HKC App and SecureComm, a cloud-based solution offering plug and play solutions that enable alarm control from any location as well as full up/download and remote maintenance to the installer via an installer tool.
