Vanderbilt adds benefits with SPC Connect

PROMOTIONAL ARTICLE

One of the main advantages of Software-as-a-Service solutions is interconnectivity. The cloud allows us to work in a completely different way than was possible before. In the past, an installer would have to get in their van and make a site visit to investigate any complaints or issues from their customer. Now, this can all be done remotely through SaaS-solutions like Vanderbilt’s SPC Connect. So, that entire service interaction has changed quite dramatically.

Vanderbilt wants to continue that evolution. Customers now expect very high levels of service from installers. SaaS-solutions are the perfect enabler to achieve this. With SPC Connect, Vanderbilt is delivering an ecosystem that will allow installers to have a better communication environment with their customers.

SPC Connect brings installers closer to their customers by creating a platform where they can communicate more freely with each other. This ability to have more open communication between installer and end user, in a secure mechanism such as SPC Connect, will have a significant impact on increasing the level of service for all parties.

Ecosystem

SPC Connect is a hosted cloud-based solution designed for installers to monitor, manage and maintain SPC panels remotely.

‘At Vanderbilt, we want our customers to be able to get their message to their customers as quickly and efficiently as possible,’ says John O’Donnell, Product Manager at Vanderbilt.

For instance, with SPC Connect latest features, an installer can send targeted messages, such as promotional offers, via push notification or email. The feature is highly refined, with installers having the choice of which system users receive the message, such as panel managers. Messages can be broken down into specific groups, regions, or user levels.

Packages

‘Through the latest service release, Vanderbilt is enabling installers to deliver better systems and packages to their customers. Ultimately, this hands more power to the installer to drive better business for themselves,’ states O’Donnell.

This new feature set gives installers the option of having tiers and packages for their customers to purchase and choose from. Vanderbilt’s goal is to build products that will support these package options, but the ultimate choice of offers to the users will lay with the installer.

This enhancement is intended to give the security company greater control of the level of service they wish to offer through SPC Connect. The function allows the security company to define what operations are permitted by a user such as: blocking email; blocking push notification; blocking alarm verification; blocking mobile app; and blocking verification web.

Verification

The latest version of SPC Connect also includes a verification package. If audio verification is enabled in the system user’s package and an alarm occurs, that will appear on the mobile app device. Users with this package will be able to view images and listen to audio from that alarm, on their device.

‘If Live verification has also been configured, the end user will be able to see the Live image feed and be able to talk and listen live to site. These updates are very compelling features by nature,’ explains O’Donnell.

Award-winning

SPC Connect was an innovation winner at the Detektor International Awards in late 2017. The Detektor International Awards recognise products that meet the criteria of outstanding innovations and contributions to the advancement of the security industry.

‘SPC is one of the best intrusion detection solutions on the market for system user requirements and we’re committed to providing customers with a stable and established security system that offers whole market scalability and future-proof guarantee,’ concludes O’Donnell.

Essentially what SPC Connect boils down to is providing ease of use and convenience. It delivers an enhanced platform for installers to have greater control of the services they offer. It allows them to communicate and to improve their business and will bridge the gap between security installers and their customers. The Detekor award was a real stamp of approval for this intruder detection solution, and 2018 promises to deliver further innovative leaps.
