Korenix has launched an industrial Ethernet switch that is suitable for a wide range of applications in professional surveillance systems. The product is available in the UK from MAC Solutions. The new JetNet 7310G is a Layer 3 managed switch with Layer 2 network performance. The switch provides eight 35W power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports, enabling the simple connection of devices that require high power levels such as PTZ cameras or devices with on-board heaters.
Based on the latest high speed switching architecture, the JetNet 7310G supports 9KB packet forwarding and H.264 burst stream management, providing stable connections right through to the control room.
Supporting various routing methods such as static/dynamic, VLAN, IP multicast, VRRP and OSPF, the device routes high speed IP video streams efficiently with low latencies and operates in the harshest of environments, according to the manufacturer.
With cyber security uppermost in network architects’ minds, Korenix is bringing enterprise-grade security features to surveillance applications by including a range of security features including DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection protection, IP source guard and denial of service protection.
In addition, to enable robust and fault-tolerant systems, the JetNet 7310G supports multiple redundancy architectures such as rapid super rings and dual homing, with seamless port restoration.
The key features of the JetNet 7310G include eight full gigabit PoE ports with up to 35W per port, two gigabit SFP ports for uplink, 240W total power budget, PoE scheduling, device alive checking, non-blocking high speed switch fabric and industrial-grade design with redundant power inputs.
