Tyco Security: exacqVision M-Series

by Benchmark

While there can be no doubt that the flexibility of VMS packages has allowed the surveillance sector to develop beyond the limitations of hardware-based NVRs, there is still demand for single-box solutions in a wide range of simpler applications. With a growing number of VMS providers offering such solutions, Tyco Security Products has added the M-Series to its exacqVision range of video appliances, aimed at smaller applications with lower risk requirements.

Tyco Security Products has launched the exacqVision M-Series, a cost-effective video recording appliance which makes IP-based video surveillance easy to install and use. The M-Series is designed for systems with a requirement of up to 8 cameras.
Integrated PoE ports, plus VMS and client software, are all contained within the 4 or 8 channel camera server, so no external switch is needed.

There are no camera licenses to purchase or apply as the M-Series is fully licensed out of the box, which adds to the ease of installation.

Users can choose to view the live and recorded video in a way that best suits their needs. Both the on-board client and free remote client enables the user to administer the system. For those who require the additional freedom of using a browser or App, the M-Series can be accessed from any browser and from the exacq Mobile App available for iOS and Android devices.

Like all exacqVision recording solutions, the M-Series has been designed to be easy to set-up. The integral exacqVision EasyConnect feature automatically finds, assigns and addresses Illustra and other brands of IP cameras to the network. This enables installers to take advantage of the plug-and-play system architecture, significantly reducing installation time and the need for an in-depth knowledge of IP technology.

The system makes use of the exacqVision Start VMS package, and is supplied with three years warranty and software upgrades. It is possible to upgrade the M-Series to exacqVision Professional which adds a number of features including advanced search and archiving functionality, multiple streaming, audio, event notification and bookmarking.

If the full VMS functionality is required there is also an option to upgrade M-Series appliances to the exacqVision VMS Enterprise version.
