Bosch Launches UK-Built Praesensa Racks for Faster Delivery

by Geny Caloisi
Bosch Building Technologies has launched a new service for the UK and Ireland, offering custom-built voice alarm (VA) and public address (PA) rack systems. This new service, based in the UK, aims to streamline the delivery and setup process for local clients, enabling quicker dispatch and more accessible Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Bosch’s decision addresses growing demand for its Praesensa PA/VA systems, providing customers a more efficient route to obtaining fully compliant and certified systems without needing to rely on their European headquarters in Straubing, Germany.

The Praesensa system, an advanced IP-based PA/VA solution, stands out for its versatility and redundancy features, making it ideal for a variety of building configurations. Users benefit from high-quality audio, whether for music or public messaging, controlled via a user-friendly graphical interface. Bosch’s decision to establish a local service simplifies access to these systems, particularly for customers with occasional requirements for a compliant VA/PA setup.

Enhancing Local Capabilities Previously, custom rack-building services were only available from Bosch’s EMEA headquarters in Germany. Now, UK and Ireland customers will benefit from locally-built racks, fully compliant and tailored to specific project needs. These racks will come with all necessary software programming, certifications, CAD wiring schematics, and detailed installation manuals, ensuring installers have everything required for seamless integration.

The new UK-based offering is designed to support installers with a simplified process, allowing customers to receive a rack that is ready for final connection to mains power, site wiring, and loudspeaker lines. Customers also have the option to witness the FAT process, offering an added layer of reassurance regarding the system’s compliance and functionality.

Full-Service Approach In addition to custom builds, Bosch’s service will include a comprehensive support package. This includes manuals and certificates, as well as the capacity to incorporate specialised components such as microphones and other accessories. The company also provides additional options, such as onsite commissioning, sound pressure level testing, and training once the system is installed, ensuring a complete end-to-end service.

Each rack is built in a rugged enclosure, with batteries and other accessories shipped separately to ensure safe transportation. Bosch’s full-service model ensures that installers receive everything needed for a smooth, efficient installation, backed by Bosch’s reputation for quality and compliance.

Adam Osborne, Country Sales Manager UK and Ireland at Bosch, highlighted the importance of this development for local markets. “There is a large and growing demand for the Praesensa IP-based public address and voice alarm system in the UK and Ireland,” he explained. “Custom rack building in our region will provide a real benefit to companies that occasionally need to supply a compliant PA/VA system. Bringing the manufacture of these racks closer to our customers will help us to speed up delivery times and ensure a better local service for these certified racks.”

By moving rack-building closer to its UK and Ireland customers, Bosch aims to provide faster delivery times and enhanced local support, ensuring businesses in these regions can more easily meet their PA/VA system requirements with certified, high-quality solutions.
