by Geny Caloisi

Gunnebo Entrance Control will showcase its latest airport security innovations at Passenger Terminal Expo 2025, including advanced entrance control technology from Cominfo, a Gunnebo company. The event, running from 8–10 April at IFEMA in Madrid, will highlight solutions designed to enhance passenger flow and security.

At booth 1314, visitors can experience AFL, the newest addition to Gunnebo’s airport gate portfolio, designed to optimise boarding while ensuring a seamless, secure passenger journey. Also on display will be Cominfo’s AirGate e-Gate, an automated border control system with tailgating and crossover detection, plus unattended luggage identification.

“As airports evolve, security must adapt to growing passenger volumes while maintaining efficiency,” said Nathan Anstee, VP of Mass Transit at Gunnebo. “With the AFL portfolio and Cominfo’s latest technology, we offer intelligent, automated solutions that improve throughput, strengthen security, and enhance operational insight. We help airports create safer, more efficient environments by combining advanced detection with space-efficient designs.”

Key solutions include the AFL Ultra Compact, a sleek, space-saving gate that maximises security without compromising on efficiency. Also on show will be the AFL Compact with Overhead Detection, featuring an integrated overhead camera for enhanced verification, tailgating prevention, wrong-way detection, and obstruction alerts.

Nathan Anstee added: “Passenger Terminal Expo 2025 is an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and demonstrate how our solutions can enhance security, streamline passenger flow, and optimise operations. We look forward to discussing how our technology can be tailored to meet the evolving needs of airports worldwide.”

Attendees can visit Gunnebo Entrance Control at booth 1314 to experience these technologies firsthand and explore customised security solutions.
