barox Achieves ISO Certifications for Environmental Excellence

by Geny Caloisi

barox Kommunikation AG has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental responsibility and quality management, successfully passing its latest ISO audits — including ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 27001 for information security, and ISO 9001 for quality assurance.

At the heart of barox’s environmental strategy lies its ISO 14001-certified environmental management system, which helps the company systematically identify, evaluate, and minimise its environmental impact through targeted reduction measures.

Recent audits highlight barox’s steady progress in reducing CO₂ emissions and promoting sustainable practices. One key area of improvement has been packaging: by gradually switching to alternative materials, optimising designs, and setting stringent requirements for third-party suppliers, barox has nearly halved its plastic usage in product packaging since 2019.

Another major focus has been the reduction of CO₂ emissions across the supply chain. By transitioning from air to sea freight where possible, barox has significantly reduced the environmental impact of transporting goods from factories and subcontractors.

Within its own facilities, barox has also prioritised staff education on waste separation and recycling. In a simple yet effective step, reusable packaging materials are now being repurposed in product shipments to customers, reducing waste and supporting a circular economy.

“A growing number of our customers are prioritising environmental management, which drives our pursuit of ISO 14001 certification,” said Rudolf Rohr, Co-founder and Managing Director at barox. “We’ve found that environmentally conscious practices not only meet regulatory expectations but also bring economic advantages. Challenges often reveal opportunities for real improvement, and at barox, we see environmental stewardship as part of our corporate DNA and our responsibility to society.”

He added: “Our green-focused management approach is embedded at every level of the company, driving both ecological and process-based enhancements. We’re determined to keep moving forward and not rest on our achievements. We’re proud to have once again passed ISO 14001, 27001, and 9001 certifications — a testament to our dedication and progress.”

barox’s success story highlights how investing in sustainability can deliver both environmental and business benefits. As the company looks ahead, it remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring its solutions and processes keep pace with the evolving needs of the industry and the planet.
