Buzz Bingo, a large bingo operator in the UK, is set to modernise its in-club connectivity with a significant upgrade to its wireless network. The company has partnered with network services provider Principle Networks to roll out a new Wi-Fi infrastructure across its 80 bingo venues in England and Scotland over the next five years.
The project will involve deploying Cisco Meraki wireless access points, enhancing connectivity for both customers and operational systems. The new cloud-managed infrastructure is expected to improve network security, support IoT devices, and enable new digital services within Buzz Bingo’s venues.
The operator, part of Buzz Group Ltd, serves over one million members, with 200,000 new visitors joining last year. Its digital presence, including the buzzbingo.com platform, integrates online and in-club experiences, reflecting the evolving nature of bingo entertainment. The company’s investment in upgraded network capabilities aligns with its broader strategy to enhance customer engagement through technology.
David Cutts, Chief Technology Officer at Buzz Bingo, emphasised the importance of digital transformation in maintaining the brand’s competitive edge. “A key part of our growth will be driven by enhancing customer experiences through investments in our clubs and the latest technologies. The concept of bingo has evolved. Today, customers have a wide range of choices of how they want to play – and our omnichannel approach is unique – with technology sitting at the heart.”
Principle Networks specialises in designing and implementing cloud-based network solutions for a range of sectors, including retail, financial services, and local government. The company will collaborate closely with Buzz Bingo’s IT team throughout the project to ensure the infrastructure meets evolving business and customer needs.
Russell Crowley, co-founder of Principle Networks, highlighted the significance of robust connectivity in entertainment venues. “A secure and reliable network infrastructure is central to delivering the best possible customer experience, whether online or in a club. As the UK’s biggest bingo operator, Buzz Bingo is continually looking for innovative ways to enhance its offering, and we’re very proud to have been chosen as its IT partner for the next five years.”
The network upgrade is expected to support Buzz Bingo’s long-term digital strategy, allowing the operator to integrate new technologies and enhance customer engagement across its venues.
