Comelit-PAC has launched the PAC Gateway, a new device designed to simplify remote access control management by connecting PAC controllers to Housing Central. The easy-to-install solution enables residential customers to manage access permissions, oversee tenant credentials, and control doors remotely via Ethernet or cellular networks.
The PAC Gateway facilitates communication between the primary PAC 511/512DCi and secondary 512DC controllers on-site, ensuring a secure and efficient connection to Housing Central. It provides a straightforward migration path for customers transitioning from PSTN or GSM to a 4G or Ethernet-based solution, minimising disruption and investment.
Steve Riley, Division Director at Comelit-PAC, explains: “The PAC Gateway offers an intuitive way for customers to securely manage remote residential properties. It enhances the functionality of Housing Central, allowing users to create Time Profiles that regulate access for staff and residents or configure free-access periods for specific doors.”
The latest updates to Housing Central also reflect customer feedback, improving both usability and efficiency. Enhancements include a redesigned reporting tool for emailing reports directly, an overview section displaying managed hardware, and a streamlined process for assigning access permissions. The introduction of Access Profiles simplifies the administration of credentials, making it easier to update permissions without modifying individual records.
The PAC Gateway supports up to eight doors in different configurations, always connecting securely via IP SSL or 4G. Designed for minimal installation requirements, the system ensures flexible connectivity to meet diverse customer needs.
Steve adds: “With support for both new and existing 500 series door controllers, the PAC Gateway offers a future-proof, scalable solution. Unlike other options, it enables seamless integration of PAC and GDX hardware, providing real-time management of remote doors across multiple controllers within a single system.”
