Eagle Eye Networks has announced the launch of its Precision Person & Vehicle Detection, a cloud-based feature designed to deliver highly accurate long-distance detection of people and vehicles. The development marks a step forward in intrusion monitoring, particularly for businesses that require reliable alerts for potential threats without investing in new hardware.
The new capability runs entirely on the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS and can be deployed instantly across existing connected cameras. By applying advanced AI algorithms and analysing multiple frames, the system distinguishes people and vehicles from common false alarm triggers such as shadows, moving vegetation, or headlights. This allows operators to focus on genuine security events, reducing time-consuming and costly false positives.
Dean Drako, CEO of Eagle Eye Networks, explained: “Eagle Eye Precision Person & Vehicle Detection turns existing security cameras into an intrusion detection system. The ability to deliver accurate alerts without hardware upgrades enables organisations to respond faster, prevent incidents and reduce costs.”
The feature is designed for large-scale deployment across sectors such as enterprise facilities, schools, municipalities, warehouses, car dealerships and residential complexes. It has been tested in both on-premise and remote monitoring environments, including challenging weather and low-visibility conditions.
Early adopters have highlighted the benefits of the system’s long-range accuracy. Nathan Smith, Director of Centurion Fire and Security in Huddersfield, noted: “The feature has proven exceptionally sensitive and reliable—even detecting a person through a Heras fence at 40 metres. Crucially, it avoids triggering on parked vehicles, which has been a persistent issue with other systems.”
The functionality integrates directly with Eagle Eye Cloud VMS, supporting alert automation, webhook connections to alarm monitoring software, and seamless communication with third-party monitoring providers. Configurable detection zones and scheduling offer administrators additional flexibility to tailor the system to site-specific needs.
Steven Ballard, Managing Member at iNet Security and Surveillance, commented: “Resellers can now provide customers with 24/7 AI-powered intrusion detection using the cameras they already have. Because it is fully cloud-based, there is no requirement for extra hardware or complex configuration. The system provides proactive protection that strengthens security operations.”
By reducing false alarms, improving detection accuracy, and eliminating the need for hardware replacement, Eagle Eye’s Precision Person & Vehicle Detection is positioned as a scalable option for organisations seeking to enhance security efficiency while maintaining existing infrastructure.
