Vismo has enhanced its mass notification capabilities to better support organisations in safeguarding their employees during emergencies or emerging threats. The service is now accessible via the Vismo Monitor App, delivering robust, real-time notifications that prioritise employee wellbeing globally.
This development allows employers to view the real-time location of employees and send urgent alerts without needing to rely on a desktop computer. It provides greater flexibility for security teams to act swiftly, whether in an office or working remotely.
The app works on all mobile devices and supports satellite phones and trackers. It integrates fully with the existing secure portal, so security staff can manage notifications and other safety features entirely from a smartphone.
Connectivity is underpinned by more than 600 global roaming agreements, with fallback options and eSIMs ensuring reliable communication for two-way mass notifications, regardless of location.
“Integrating mass notification functionality within the app saves valuable time and provides security teams with greater flexibility,” explains Colin Dale, Vismo’s Global Sales Director. “They no longer need to be at a static workstation to respond swiftly to an unfolding situation.”
The system uses multi-channel messaging to reach employees individually, in groups or across the entire workforce. It can be tailored to integrate with an organisation’s HR systems and security procedures.
Intelligence feeds provide real-time updates from specialist sources, emergency services and the media, giving security teams the information they need to take swift action.
The platform draws on 24/7 intelligence feeds, receiving information from specialist intelligence operations, emergency services, news organisations and other sources to help identify threats as they emerge.
“Mass notification is a critical component of staff protection in any situation,” says Dale. “Wherever a threat arises, whether in high-risk areas or unexpected situations, employers’ security teams can take immediate action.”
He concludes, “The first step is to issue an urgent warning through mass notification, providing essential information and safety advice. This can be followed by optional phone calls to gather further details about the incident, including employees’ proximity to the threat. The final step often involves coordinating with emergency services or private security, and if necessary, arranging evacuation.”
