Hanwha Unveils OnCAFE Cloud Access Control Platform

by Geny Caloisi

Hanwha Vision has announced the launch of OnCAFE (Cloud Access For Everyone), a cloud-hosted Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) platform that the company says will expand its cloud ecosystem and simplify security management for organizations of all sizes.

OnCAFE has been developed by Hanwha Vision’s newly formed Software Engineering Team and is built to remove many of the cost and IT challenges that come with traditional access control. As a fully cloud-native system, it doesn’t require on-site servers, bridges, or appliances, and can scale from a single door to multi-site enterprise deployments.

Tom Cook, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Operations for North America, described the platform as “the most user-friendly access control system on the market”. He pointed to the reduction of operational barriers, noting that users will no longer need to worry about server crashes, disaster recovery, or ongoing software updates.

Integration is another central feature. OnCAFE connects with Hanwha Vision’s video management systems, including WAVE VMS and OnCloud, and offers an open API for third-party systems. This creates the opportunity to bring video, monitoring, and access control together in one environment.

For users, the system provides a web and mobile interface to manage credentials, set access rights, and monitor activity remotely. It also introduces AI-driven scheduling, automation, and real-time configuration tools to speed up deployment and simplify ongoing use. Compliance with standards such as OSDP verification, ONVIF Profile A&C, and SUNAPI supports broad device compatibility.

Hanwha Vision is offering OnCAFE with flexible hardware options. Its IP controllers feature patented OSDP Flex Inputs and built-in fire alarm disconnects, while the system is also compatible with Azure Access Technologies open controllers. Bundled solutions with Wavelynx Apex readers allow organisations to choose between physical credentials or mobile-based verification, including Wallet integration.

With this launch, Hanwha Vision is aiming to disrupt a market still dominated by on-premise systems. By removing complexity and lowering costs, OnCAFE is positioned as a practical alternative for organisations that have previously hesitated to upgrade their access control. It also strengthens Hanwha Vision’s role as a single-source provider of integrated security, surveillance, and facility management solutions.
