HID revealed at IFSEC 2023 that the HID Mobile Access offering is soon to include mobile credentials in Google Wallet for Android users.
Mobile access is the use of a mobile device (e.g., smartphone, tablet or wearable) to gain access to secured doors, gates, networks, services and more. The solutions allow organisations to meet the growing demands of a mobile-first world.
HID Mobile Access is already available on Apple products, as users with an employee badge in Apple Wallet can access office doors, elevators, turnstiles, multifunction printers and more using just their iPhone or Apple Watch. Employee badge in Apple Wallet integrates into existing access control systems, is simple to distribute and manage, and takes advantage of the built-in security features of iPhone and Apple Watch.
As displayed in a video at the event in London, employees will soon be able to use Android devices with Google Wallet to carry out secured access management. This mobile-first solution offers one-click convenience, security and privacy protection — and helps administrators streamline operations with remote credential provisioning and management.
