HKC, a leading manufacturer of intruder alarm solutions in the UK and Ireland, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Gerard Riney as Head of Research & Development. The move underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating product innovation and supporting its long-term growth strategy.
Gerard brings more than a decade of experience in security technology, with expertise spanning hardware design, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure, and connected security products. In his new role, Gerard will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to delivery and continuous improvement. Commenting on his appointment, Gerard said: “HKC’s strong market position in Ireland, combined with its ambition to expand, makes this an exciting time to be leading R&D. I’m looking forward to building on our reputation for innovation and reliability, helping shape the next generation of security solutions and supporting HKC’s continued success.
“My aim within this role is to make R&D a driver of sustainable growth and to create a culture of creativity, collaboration and technical excellence. We have a fantastic opportunity to not only strengthen our position in Ireland but also to explore new markets with integrations made possible by ASSA ABLOY.”
