HID has named Jos Beernink as its new Vice President for Europe within the Physical Access Control business, a move aimed at reinforcing the company’s position across a region that continues to demand more flexible, technology-driven security solutions.
Beernink steps into the role with a long track record in international technology and security organisations, having held senior leadership posts at Atari, Tech Data, Samsung Electronics, Honeywell Security & Fire, Genetec and Milestone Systems within the Canon Group. His background spans sales, go-to-market strategy and general management, giving him a broad foundation for guiding HID’s European development.
Speaking about his appointment, Beernink said HID’s reach and technological depth stood out immediately: “HID’s products and technologies touch almost every part of modern life. It’s inspiring to join a company that combines strong innovation with a clear, forward-looking vision. HID’s scale, expertise and technology make it uniquely positioned to help customers navigate the digital transformation of access control, from mobile and cloud-connected systems to next-generation biometric authentication.”
Since coming onboard, Beernink has focused on strengthening HID’s alignment with channel partners, boosting support for enterprise customers and expanding both sales and engineering resources. He is also directing investment towards key growth areas such as data centres, critical infrastructure, healthcare, government and smart buildings.
His academic background includes a degree in Commercial Economics and further studies in Business Administration in the Netherlands, complemented by executive programmes at Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Nyenrode University. During his time at Nyenrode, he published work examining cyber risk preparedness at board level. Away from the office, he is a licensed private pilot, enthusiastic runner and an active board member within his local Lions International organisation.
Gerald Grattoni, HID’s Vice President and Head of Mature Markets, highlighted the value Beernink brings to the European team, noting that his extensive experience and customer-focused approach will play a central role in supporting HID’s growth and ongoing innovation across the region.
