TAZAAR sets a new benchmark for power system asset tracking with GeoTag DIN Rail

by Geny Caloisi

TAZAAR, a UK-based innovator in product traceability and security for high-value electronics, has unveiled the GeoTag DIN Rail – a GPS-enabled tracker designed specifically for power systems and industrial equipment. Making its global debut at the PLASA Show’s Innovation Gallery in London (Kensington Olympia, September 7-9), the device reimagines asset protection for environments where reliability and visibility are critical.

The GeoTag DIN Rail is engineered to bolt directly onto generators, power units and heavy industrial equipment, giving asset managers real-time assurance that expensive infrastructure is exactly where it should be. By combining industrial durability with digital intelligence, the solution addresses one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: safeguarding valuable equipment in open or remote locations without a permanent security presence.

Unlike consumer-grade alternatives, the DIN rail-mounted tracker delivers near real-time GPS location data independently of smartphones or local networks. It connects automatically to mobile networks in more than 170 countries via a global SIM, while its discreet, weather- and tamper-resistant design ensures resilience under demanding conditions. The device is powered by the host product, but it also includes its own backup battery, with modular extensions available to customise runtime based on operational needs.

The system integrates seamlessly with TAZAAR’s AssetID platform, providing a Digital Product Passport (DPP) that links each unit to its lifecycle history, including ownership records, maintenance logs and environmental data. This integration not only improves traceability and compliance but also supports sustainability goals by extending product lifecycles.

Smart features accessible through the GeoTag platform include motion alerts, geofencing and live dashboards to track movement history and asset groupings. For users, this means a proactive approach to asset security, with alerts triggered by unauthorised movement or boundary breaches.

“GeoTag DIN Rail is more than a tracker, it’s a compliance-ready, visibility-enhancing, loss-preventing tool for professional teams who can’t afford to lose track of their power infrastructure,” said Lisa Stafford, Co-Founder and CEO of TAZAAR. “Whether it’s backstage, in transit, or on a remote site, GeoTag DIN Rail keeps the crew informed and in control.”

The solution is manufactured exclusively in the UK and is now available to order via TAZAAR’s website. Visitors to PLASA London at Kensington Olympia (7–9 September) can see the GeoTag DIN Rail in action at the Innovation Gallery, alongside the wider GeoTag family, including the Compact, 12/24V, Longlife, Case and Embedded variants.
