2024 may be just behind us, but for Gunnebo Group, it marks a turning point — a year that laid the groundwork for a more transparent, accountable and climate-conscious future. Now, with the release of its 2024 Sustainability Report, the company is not only sharing progress, but setting the pace for what’s to come.
For the first time, the report includes a formal Sustainability Statement aligned with the EU’s incoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) — a move Gunnebo has chosen to make voluntarily, well ahead of regulatory deadlines.
“In line with our ambition to accelerate progress on sustainability and contribute meaningfully to a resilient and responsible future, we are embedding sustainability into the heart of our business,” said Stefan Syrén, President and CEO of Gunnebo Group. “By aligning with the CSRD today — before it becomes mandatory — we’re demonstrating leadership and taking clear ownership of our sustainability journey.”
Titled “Our Journey to a Safe and Sustainable Tomorrow”, the report outlines Gunnebo’s strategic ESG priorities, from reducing operational carbon emissions to strengthening its ethical, inclusive workplace culture.
Fredrik Fors, General Counsel and SVP Sustainability, added: “We’ve made measurable progress, particularly in reducing our carbon footprint — but we also know this is a long-term effort. Our climate roadmap is designed to strike a balance between decarbonisation, investment, and long-term customer value.”
The report reinforces Gunnebo’s belief that real impact comes from action, not obligation. While CSRD compliance will soon be mandatory across Europe, the company sees its early adoption as part of a wider effort to build lasting trust — with employees, customers, and society at large.
“This isn’t just about meeting the rules,” Syrén concluded. “It’s about setting a standard we can be proud of — and building a business that’s resilient by design.”
