Gunnebo Entrance Control has formed a strategic partnership with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and the Transport Information Technology Company (TransIT), a subsidiary of Egypt’s Ministry of Transport, to locally manufacture electronic gates in Egypt. The partnership aims to enhance local production capabilities, reduce imports, and support technological localisation by integrating Swedish expertise with Egyptian manufacturing.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to facilitate this collaboration, emphasising the production of electronic gates for various applications, including metro systems, corporate offices, and airports. Key figures at the MoU signing included Major General Engineer Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, Swedish Ambassador Håkan Emsgård, and TransIT’s Major General Engineer Khaled Mohamed Attia.
This initiative is part of Egypt’s broader efforts to localise technology, boost industrial development, and attract international investments. The partnership is expected to bring economic benefits, support sustainable development, and ensure high-quality, efficient production. Gunnebo will also provide ongoing support and after-sales service to ensure the success and longevity of the partnership.
