Verkada has unveiled its latest addition to the cloud-based physical security market: a dual-head camera designed to reduce blind spots and simplify deployments. Alongside this launch, the company has introduced a series of platform enhancements aimed at improving situational awareness and accelerating incident response.
The new CY53-E Two-Camera Multisensor builds on Verkada’s expanding multisensor line, offering two independently adjustable camera heads from a single mounting point. Each sensor includes 2.55x optical zoom and benefits from an advanced onboard processor, enabling AI-driven analytics and alerts. It’s a system built with visibility in mind—designed to help users see more, with less hardware.
On the software side, Verkada has rolled out an upgrade to its alerting capabilities within the Command platform. Now, teams can unify alerts across Verkada Guest, Licence Plate Recognition (LPR), Alarm events and Helix incidents in a single inbox. This means, for example, that staff at a logistics hub can receive an automatic alert when a contractor checks in at the gate, or a retail team can track high-value product purchases in real time—creating new opportunities for proactive response.
Smarter integrations for faster response
“Each new product and feature that we introduce is purpose-built to serve our customers’ evolving needs,” said Brandon Davito, Senior Vice President of Product and Operations at Verkada. “Whether it’s our new two-camera multisensor to monitor entry and exit points more effectively or our customizable, cross-product alerting capabilities, every addition to Verkada’s platform is designed to support efficient enterprise deployments today and scale with our customers into the future.”
In line with this philosophy, Verkada has introduced a deeper integration between its Alarms and Access Control systems. Security administrators can now configure door-related triggers—such as doors being opened, held open or forced open—as alarm events, assigning them to specific partitions and pairing them with video verification tools. This offers a tighter, more automated approach to managing intrusion and access from one platform.
The company is also making strides in emergency communication. Updates to Verkada’s Intercom system now allow organisations to assign a unique local number to each intercom, supporting “talk down” functionality and enabling direct 911 dialling for emergency scenarios or blue light deployments.
Rethinking the user experience—from visitors to mobile admins
Visitor access is getting a boost too, with more on-demand credentialing options now available—including PIN and QR code access for short-term guests. A new integration with Cisco Meraki allows visitors to receive automatic Wi-Fi credentials during the check-in process, creating a seamless and secure user experience.
For those investigating incidents, Verkada is refining its tools to make the process faster and more intuitive. Users can now group individuals of interest into dedicated lists, while vehicle searches have been added to the Command platform’s History Player feature—further extending its forensic capabilities.
Physical deterrents are also evolving. A new wireless siren and strobe system can now be triggered via Verkada Alarms, while support for larger deployments is expanding with improvements to the company’s keypad and expander hardware. This includes connecting an unlimited number of keypads using a single ethernet drop and daisy-chaining multiple expanders to reduce wiring requirements.
On-the-go users haven’t been forgotten either. Key features including Guest, LPR, Floorplans and the “My Account” dashboard are now fully accessible within the Command mobile app, giving administrators greater flexibility to manage their systems remotely.
Finally, the refreshed Command user interface brings a more intuitive search and navigation experience. Admins can now filter results instantly and search by keyword to quickly locate settings or features across the platform.
With these updates, Verkada continues to shape a unified, intelligent ecosystem that helps organisations respond faster, reduce complexity, and enhance safety across their environments.
