Genetec has introduced the Cloudlink 210, a cloud-managed appliance designed to integrate multiple security workloads, including video management, access control, and intrusion detection. The latest addition to the Cloudlink portfolio, the new device provides a bridge between on-premises security infrastructure and cloud-based systems, supporting organisations looking to modernise their security operations.
Unlike single-purpose appliances, the Cloudlink 210 supports multiple security applications within a single unit. This approach allows organisations to consolidate their security functions, reducing the need for multiple dedicated devices. The system is also compatible with existing Cloudlink appliances, extending the multi-workload concept across the Genetec ecosystem.
Enhancing Connectivity and Cybersecurity
Designed for hybrid deployments, the Cloudlink 210 enables businesses to transition to cloud-based security without replacing their existing infrastructure. Its open architecture allows compatibility with a range of cameras and access control systems, offering flexibility beyond proprietary solutions. The appliance also incorporates cybersecurity features to protect against evolving threats, addressing vulnerabilities in legacy systems.
“As organisations update their security operations, legacy systems can introduce cybersecurity risks,” said Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering at Genetec. “Cloudlink 210 is designed to connect these systems to the cloud securely while providing an added layer of protection.”
Scalability and Simplified Management
The compact device is built for adaptability, allowing businesses to scale security operations as needed. It can be installed in various environments, including rack-mounted configurations for expanded storage and processing capabilities. A touchscreen interface simplifies deployment, providing access to key management functions, system health indicators, and network settings.
As a cloud-managed solution, the appliance automates firmware and software updates, ensuring systems remain up to date with the latest security enhancements. Remote monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities further streamline management processes, reducing operational overhead.
The Cloudlink 210 is expected to be available globally in May 2025 through Genetec’s network of accredited channel partners. More details can be found at Genetec’s website.
