Augean Boosts Fire Protection with Comelit-PAC’s Wireless Solution at Kirkby Site

by Geny Caloisi

Augean has enhanced fire safety at its Kirkby waste treatment facility with the installation of Comelit-PAC’s LogiFire wireless, addressable multi-panel fire alarm system.

The solution was installed and commissioned by Centurion Fire & Security to ensure full compliance with BS 5839-1:2017, achieving the highest level of fire protection.

Designed to deliver full site coverage, local and remote monitoring, and minimal operational disruption, the wireless system provided a faster installation process while maintaining reliability and scalability for future expansion. Emma Smith, Site Manager at Augean, commented: “Great service from Centurion, the installation guys always worked efficiently and professionally. We’re pleased with the Comelit-PAC products installed and would be happy to recommend, especially the wireless aspect that has made a real difference in our fire safety set-up.”

The project also incorporated thermal CCTV cameras for perimeter monitoring and early fire-risk detection, along with external manual call points and sounder VADs for rapid, clear emergency alerts. Both the fire alarm and CCTV systems were integrated into a centralised platform, enabling complete visibility and control across Augean’s operations.

George Antemes, Key Account Manager at Centurion Fire & Security, noted: “By adopting Comelit-PAC’s multi-panel wireless solution, we were able to complete the works quickly and seamlessly, maintaining full operations throughout.”

Mandy Bowden, Fire Manager at Comelit-PAC, added: “Waste management sites present demanding fire risks, and achieving L1 compliance was essential for Augean. By combining our fire detection system with integrated thermal CCTV monitoring, we’ve delivered a reliable and scalable solution that ensures complete visibility and futureproof protection across the facility.”
