Videx Security, a prominent name in door entry and access control systems, has introduced its latestinnovation, the XPROX-MF-SA panel mount reader. This new release enhances the already popular MiAccess offline proximity access control system, offering increased flexibility and user convenience.
Designed with the UK’s industry-standard window size of 40mm x 40mm, the XPROX-MF-SA is well-suited for both new installations and retrofitting into existing entry panels. Its compatibility extends to panels from third-party manufacturers, ensuring seamless integration across a wide range of applications.
The MiAccess system is particularly valued by housing associations and local authorities for its cost-effectiveness, as it eliminates the need for expensive onsite infrastructure like internet connections. This makes it an attractive choice for organisations seeking to balance advanced access control with affordability.
The XPROX-MF-SA employs Mifare read/write technology, enabling a fully offline access control system. Additionally, users benefit from remote management via Videx’s free PC software, which allows configuration of up to 80 readers per site. This functionality includes setting access levels and free access periods, all without requiring onsite visits for programming.
Commenting on the new product, Rhys McNichol, Project Manager at Videx Security, said: “The launch of the XPROX-MF-SA demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering practical, innovative access control solutions. This new reader empowers our customers with greater control and flexibility in managing secure access.”
The XPROX-MF-SA offers several key advantages. It allows for unlimited user capacity, with users added, modified, or removed remotely from the PC software, eliminating the need for engineers to visit the site. The device also includes an integral dry contact relay and exit button input, with the option of a remote relay (RU2) for enhanced security. It is powered by a local 12Vdc supply, requiring no additional connections. For ease of use, the reader can be configured remotely using a Mifare card or tag, or connected via USB for more advanced configurations and event history downloads.
This latest addition to Videx’s MiAccess range solidifies the company’s reputation for developing reliable, flexible access control solutions that cater to the evolving needs of diverse sectors.
