Synectics has expanded its healthcare portfolio, with two additional NHS trusts selecting Synergy software to enhance their surveillance and security management.
These NHS Trusts, which have not been disclosed, will utilise Synergy as the foundation for multi-phase, multi-site system upgrades.
The first project aims to unify and improve surveillance across two major hospitals and one community facility within one of the UK’s busiest Trusts. This Trust’s three sites, covering over 130 acres, include diverse facilities such as one of the country’s largest trauma units, a busy A&E department, dedicated teaching facilities, and specialist health units.
With Synergy, operators at any of the sites can view video footage from the entire estate, and teams at the two hospitals can control any of the surveillance cameras. The upgrade to Synergy will support multi-site security management and offer advanced capabilities to enhance the security of staff, patients, and visitors.
The system provides advanced incident management tools, on-screen guidance, and a mapping system that can switch from OpenStreetMap to detailed internal floor layouts. This ensures operators can quickly pinpoint incidents, manage security responses more effectively, and prioritise pertinent footage on screen and for evidence recording.
The second NHS Trust, while smaller, has equally ambitious plans for using Synergy. Following initial upgrades at the Trust’s primary facility, phased work will integrate two additional sites—a postgraduate centre and a new-build location—into the same system.
In both NHS Trust deployments, Synergy will facilitate the transition to IP cameras, support the use of legacy technology, and ensure the seamless integration of additional capabilities as needed, including video analytics and increased system inputs.
Brett Longley from Synectics stated, “Our multi-site surveillance provides better awareness across entire estates, which is increasingly popular in our industry. Flexible solutions, like Synergy, are essential for phased improvement plans. This flexibility is a major reason we’re quickly growing in healthcare settings.”
