Hikvision Joins United Nations Global Compact

by Geny Caloisi
Hikvision has upped its commitment to getting green credentials by joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). The UNGC, recognised as the world’s largest global corporate sustainability initiative, welcomed Hikvision into its network.

Aligned with the mission of advancing sustainable development and corporate citizenship, Hikvision now stands among more than 20,000 companies and 3,800 non-business participants committed to upholding the principles of the UN Global Compact.

In recent years, Hikvision has consistently pursued its vision of ‘Tech for Good’ and strived to operate in a sustainable manner. Joining the UNGC reflects the company’s dedication to fulfilling its global responsibilities and enhancing transparency. Leveraging its technological innovation capabilities, ongoing efforts to create social value, and initiatives to improve efficiency, Hikvision remains committed to sustainability.

The UNGC encourages companies to integrate Ten Principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption into their strategies and operations, thereby contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hikvision integrates corporate social responsibility and sustainable development principles into its business practices. Through industry-leading technologies, the company empowers customers across various sectors to pursue digital transformation, thereby enhancing social well-being and fostering sustainability.

Demonstrating its commitment to accountability, Hikvision continuously enhances its governance and takes action towards low-carbon manufacturing, green operations, human rights due diligence, anti-corruption measures, employee welfare, and responsible supply chain management.

Believing in the transformative power of technology for the betterment of communities and the environment, Hikvision has launched the STAR (Sustainability though Technology, Action for Responsibility) Program for Social Good. This initiative supports projects focused on biodiversity conservation and environmental protection in collaboration with over 20 non-profit organisations.

As Hikvision aspires to be recognised as a respected global technology leader, the company prioritises corporate responsibility and implements policies to ensure responsible conduct across its value chain. It remains committed to exploring best practices in corporate governance, compliance, and green development to drive positive change through technological innovation. Additionally, Hikvision pledges to actively participate in the UNGC’s endeavours towards building a more sustainable future.
