Konica Minolta has launched the MOBOTIX S74 high-end video system which significantly expands the use options of intelligent video solutions. Using the MOBOTIX 7 platform, the new model features four different types of sensor (two visual, one thermal and one movement/sound), allowing more flexibility than other MOBOTIX video systems. The S74 can make use of camera apps, making the video system suitable for many requirements.
The 4K UHD video modules, available with a number of lens options, deliver bright images with high colour fidelity, even in low-light conditions. The modules also have shorter exposure times, increasing the sharpness of moving objects.
Optimised wide dynamic range (WDR) functionality enables all MOBOTIX 7 generation cameras to cope with challenging light conditions. WDR simultaneously combines images with different exposure times, automatically brightening areas that are too dark and preventing areas that are bright from white-out. The result is a more accurate, detailed image.
With VGA thermal technology and an extended image angle of up to 90 x 69 degrees, large areas (such as when deployed for perimeter protection) and temperature differentials can also be captured from great distances.
The open MOBOTIX 7 platform supports a wide range of Certified Apps, based on artificial intelligence and deep learning, to support security and workflow processes. Customers can use existing apps from the platform instead of installing software on their own infrastructure, which they would have to manage and continuously update. The pre-installed apps can be trialled free of charge for 30 days, and are activated individually using a license if required.
Customers can also develop their own apps for specific use cases and these can be integrated into the open platform. This means they can create camera functions to fulfil specific requirements, giving full flexibility and modularity. New camera app solutions are continually being created with unlimited possibilities. As image processors and storage are embedded within the camera, it operates completely autonomously. There is no need for extra hardware or software such as servers or recording systems. The intelligent video solution enables users to reduce server load and storage volumes, lowering both capital and operating costs.
The camera housing is made of powder-coated aluminium and features weatherproof USB-C sockets. The S74 also provides end-to-end protection against cyberattacks and prevents unauthorised entry into the user’s network.
