Site Protection (Software) Winner: Texecom Cloud

Texecom Cloud delivers enhanced system management options to installers. Benefits include remote maintenance and healthchecks across the full portfolio of systems, remote access to systems via any web-connected device, access management of who can access specific systems (including time-related access for individual engineers), reduction in time of on-site configurations, flexible reporting and a number of additional benefits which are in development. These latter features will enable delivery of additional value and add-on services for customers.

Increasingly, end users are demanding guaranteed system uptime as a part of service level agreements (SLAs), and the various Standards also dictate maintenance requirements for any alarm system which elicits a police response.

The Texecom Cloud service includes built-in remote maintenance and healthcheck functionality. This automates the maintenance process and records an audit trail for compliance. Remote maintenance reduces the reliance on site visits, saving the installation company time and money while adding value for the end user.

The healthcheck feature monitors systems to ensure correct operation. Installers can monitor their entire portfolio of alarm systems, providing peace of mind that all systems are operational, and identifying any issues that may otherwise go undetected.

Texecom Cloud enables connectivity from any web-connected browser whether on a PC, tablet or smartphone. This ensures systems can be accessed with ease. Due to the nature of the cloud application, the software automatically updates with future releases on the server, so installers always access the most up-to-date version.

Texecom Cloud is compatible with all Premier Elite systems that use the Texecom Connect SmartCom or Premier Elite ComIP communications devices. Connectivity requires Premier Elite firmware V4.01 and above for SmartCom connectivity, or V2.11 and above for ComIP connectivity.

Remote connectivity allows changes to system configurations to be made ‘on-the-fly’ if the customer wishes to adjust certain system parameters.

The Cloud interface can also be used by engineers on-site, giving a superior programming experience than via the keypad.
